Online Therapy for British Expats & English-Speaking Professionals Abroad
UK-based psychotherapy & counselling for clients in Dubai, the Gulf, Singapore, Hong Kong & parts of Asia.
Living abroad can look successful from the outside, while privately carrying the quieter costs of distance, pressure, loneliness, cultural transition or relationship strain.
At Rollswood Therapy, I work online with English-speaking adults and couples living internationally, including British expats and professionals in Dubai, the Gulf, Singapore, Hong Kong and parts of Asia.
For many clients abroad, UK daytime appointments align well with local afternoon or evening hours, making online therapy accessible without interrupting the working day.
When life abroad feels emotionally complicated
Living internationally can intensify questions that might once have felt manageable.
Distance from home, cultural difference, professional pressure, relocation stress and reduced family support can all begin to shape how you feel, relate and cope. You may be outwardly functioning, yet inwardly depleted, unsettled or far from yourself.
You may find yourself wondering:
- Why do I feel lonely when my life looks full?
- Why has success abroad started to feel less satisfying?
- Why has my relationship become more strained since moving overseas?
- Why do I feel caught between different versions of myself?
- Why am I coping, but not really feeling okay?
Therapy offers a place to slow these questions down and understand what they may be trying to show you.
Therapy across cultures, distance & identity
My own cross-cultural background shapes the way I work with questions of belonging, identity and emotional life across different cultural contexts.
In online therapy, we can explore not only what is happening now, but also the deeper patterns shaping how you manage pressure, ask for support, hold boundaries, relate in intimacy and carry responsibility.
This work may be especially helpful for:
- British expats and English-speaking professionals living abroad
- Adults navigating burnout, anxiety, loneliness or cultural dislocation
- Couples under pressure from relocation, work demands or distance from support networks
- Intercultural couples exploring communication, belonging or family expectations
- Parents raising children away from familiar family, community or cultural structures
- Internationally mobile clients questioning identity, purpose, home or direction.
Online therapy with Rollswood Therapy
I work online with adults and couples seeking therapy that is reflective, relational and depth-oriented.
Sessions may focus on anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, couples therapy, couples counselling, parenting pressure, identity questions, emotional overwhelm, low self-worth, grief, life transitions or the private exhaustion of holding everything together.
My approach draws on psychodynamic, relational, existential and body-informed therapy. Together, we pay attention to the patterns, protections, emotions and relational dynamics that may be keeping you stuck.
The aim is not to offer quick advice or easy answers, but to create a thoughtful therapeutic space where you can feel more grounded, more connected to yourself and more able to make sense of the life you are living.
